Free to air
Receiving over 5000 channels of radio and TV sound like just the thing Ryan and me would enjoy. What our families would have to say is entirelya different matter. I envy this guy.
Abort, Retry, Fail?
50 babies a year survive abortion?
For the abortion of younger foetuses, labour is induced by drugs in the expectation that the infant will not survive the birth process. Guidelines say that doctors should ensure that the drugs they use prevent such babies being alive at birth.
In practice, according to Stuart Campbell, former professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at St George’s hospital, London, a number do survive.

Tech girls
Perhaps not suitable for office, but fun. T3 a UK print mag has high res wallpapers. Pinups with a gizmo. Great combination. Digit seems to have got the idea for some of their covers from here.
Nuzzle a butt crack at 120kph
Thats what I thought when I saw the new safety technology from Toyota. Go have a look.
Popular Science
Read a couple of nice articles on Popular Science.. (beats buying it).
Zubbles. Coloured soap bubbles for kids to blow. And the do it without photoshop. Looks like fun. Didn't know it would be such a big deal to achieve technically. Weird bit is they had to get hold of a dye-chemistry Ph.D. from Bombay to finally crack the problem. I like the name, its so Zaphod Beeblebrox. The product is the expected to be in stores early next year. Wonder how long it will take for it to get here in India. Then we will have kids blowing coloured spheres and people trying to make cheap imitations of it. Kids in Delhi have other things to blow.
The other Zaphod thing, well sort of, was Blastwrap. It looks like bubble wrap with filling but can contain an explosion. Used for bomb disposal. The product seems to be amazing, wish they were local I would be buying shares. More on the Blastgard website.
The pic made me think of the "The Triple-Breasted Whore Of Eroticon Six", Eccentrica Gallumbits. If you dont know what that's about you dont read the books I read.

Windows Desktop Search gets lighter
Windows Desktop Search has got rid of the MSN toolbar. Bye and no regrets. MS also is playing with online apps. Look at Office Live and Windows Live though they both dont seem to do much yet. And I suppose when they do start they will assume that every user has a 10Mbps link. Theres also Start, but now it just leads to MSN Search.

Wet MP3
With the lil USB stick players and Nano's for all the joggers etc, the swimmer was feeling rather left out. Finis has the SwiMP3 for them. For that matter I guess u can use it in the shower, walks in the rain.
Yet another Gnutella client
The guys who did Limewire have released Frostwire. We need another Gnutella client? And another set of forum messages fighting over which P2P client gives better performance.
Music Denial Of Service
I dunno if this is funny or sad. I suppose that as all apps get net aware more of this will follow. Read about a DOS attack for iTunes. Is'nt what iTunes does to your music library bad enough?

USB to serial
For some disgusting reason laptops don't have serial ports anymore. I recently bought a USB to serial convertor for INR 300. Since I love radio, visited Radio Shack and saw the prices there. Its scary. Its $39.99! Thats about INR 2000. Ouch.
Let's Fly
I like science fiction. A lot. US patent 6,960,975, owned by Boris Volfson, seems to be Science Fiction.
Space vehicle propelled by the pressure of inflationary vacuum state
Abstract
A space vehicle propelled by the pressure of inflationary vacuum state is provided comprising a hollow superconductive shield, an inner shield, a power source, a support structure, upper and lower means for generating an electromagnetic field, and a flux modulation controller. A cooled hollow superconductive shield is energized by an electromagnetic field resulting in the quantized vortices of lattice ions projecting a gravitomagnetic field that forms a spacetime curvature anomaly outside the space vehicle. The spacetime curvature imbalance, the spacetime curvature being the same as gravity, provides for the space vehicle's propulsion. The space vehicle, surrounded by the spacetime anomaly, may move at a speed approaching the light-speed characteristic for the modified locale.
'Inflationary Vacuum State' ? Sounds like a post beans for lunch state.
At least its not the Heart of Gold, using the Infinite Improbability Drive.

Just how much audio do you need to carry?
An article on ilounge predicts an iPod with 1 terabyte of storage. I wonder if its really needed. How many people can really fill up 60Gb? And really listen to all that? I guess video is the only reason. Unless ur just going to think of it as a generic data storage with multimedia facilities.

Skyline
People have started adding my Flickrs of the beach as favourites, however my personal favourite does not seem to get much intrest.
