Nature photography

Nature Photographers Online Magazine is very nice, be sure to visit their articles section. They recomend filters from SIngh-Ray. While at Singh-Ray check out the galleries on the homepage. Some good how-tos at Black Rabbit. Particularly see the water tutorial 'water' and 'dance'. I've subscribed to Vivid Light Photography Online, saw some good stuff there.

Mousepad

I have seen gaming/performance mousepads. Mousepads with calculators in them.
But this is different. Chech out Busty Mousepads. Oh this is perfect for office. Wonder how this can be made part of standard office equipment.

Stereoscope

I had a stereoscope when I was little. It was fun. The quality of the 3D feel was amazing. Never could find one later, though a few friends played about with making some stereo photos of their own. So I was happy to come across this IPOD -Photo Stereoscope. It costs a lot more than my old stereoscope though.

Compressed file used as a denial of service attack

I came across this article Compressed files strike another blow to AV. Apparently you can bring a system down by uploading a compressed file that knocks out the antivirus system.
But whats new about this? In the days of Bulletin Boards running DOS, I had come across a nasty pack called the Nowhereman Utilities. This included a tool to create a zip file. When extrated this file would be huge. (Well back then even 400 Mb was huge). The idea was upload this to a BBS, the antivirus would have to unzip it to scan it and wham all disk space used up.
So now after all these years the same trick still works? Thats awful.
