Wonderful macro photography at Bugdreams. To do this must have taken a lot of patience.

Formatting

I’m will probably be formatting my PC tomorrow. My ISP has started using a client software for login, and when I try to load it it bluescreens my PC. Reloading Windows should fix that. Right now I am able to bypass this client , but that wont last so I may as well be prepared.

Not an iPod

While searching for headphones on Buy.com, I came across the Neuros Audio Digital Pic of Neuros MP3 PlayerComputer. Wonderful. MP3 player available in 20GB to 80GB. Built in FM Radio, FM Transmitter and Mic. What's more is it can record from the FM Radio. And when you sync it can even download info about the song you just recorded from FM. They have gone opensource. They even have a firmware project & sync project on sourceforge. It may not look as cool as an iPod, but at $300 for the 40GB I like it. I wonder if replacement batteries are available.

Unicornscan

Unicornscan is supposed to be a real fast port scanner.

Google Destop search - the missing bits

After having finally got Google Desktop loaded (by getting rid of CA's antivirus) I have been looking for bits to add to it. The Desktop Plugins page lists these. I shall list the ones that excite me.
  • FolderShare: Multiple computer search

  • Im sure this one is going to have some security issues, but I like it. Wonder of it will grow into some P2P network.

  • Mp3tag Audio Indexer

  • Indexes metadata of audio files in a whole bunch of formats. This will be quite useful

My fear is that all these add ons will end up making my search lethargic.

Joss Stone

Was looking for some new music. A friend suggested I listen to Joss Stone. I was told she sould like Norah Jones (I like), but after a listen I figure she sounds more like Destiny's Child.

coSARA

coSARA is an integration of SARA and coLinux. It is a network security analysis tool that runs on Win32 platforms and is based on the SATAN model..

coLinux

... "If Linux runs on every architecture, why should another operating system be in its way? " ...

Now who wants to argue with that logic? coLinux is a free and open source method for running Linux on Microsoft Windows.

Image Analyzer

Graphics Freeware for Win32 Image Analyzer seems like fun. And its plugins are even more fun.
