yeah, and i'm sure NONE of the indian sites or papers bothered to mention that he "bought" his driver's seat. it wasn't offered. he paid 6 million euro for it...or rather, his sponsors. as far as i know, u can't have individual sponsorship logos on ur race suit, so i'm guessing he'll mention their names thankfully; and he'll do it several times.

some very rich 41 yr old isreali, Chanoch Nissany, bought a testing seat with minardi. though he does have 3 seasos of racing experience. story here.

in this interview, Karthikeyan mentions, for the first race, he expects to "bring the car home". frankly, i don't see him do it unless he's _several_ laps down.

although cal and hyderabad were the favs for where the race would be, ecclestone said it might be in bombay. i doubt they have enough place for it here, so it'll probably be one of those two.

on Karthikeyan, that page also says "The 28-year-old from Chennai joined Jordan, having been given the drive because he has substantial sponsorship funds behind him."in the interview, Karthikeyan said, "As for the BRIC countries, Brazil, Russia, India and China – the fastest growing markets today – two of them already have Formula One races – so the natural thing would be that Russia and India will follow." Complete shit. it's only tending to move out of eurpean countries coz of anti-smoking laws. by not having ads of cig companies, they can't afford a race. one of the biggest reasons for the new venues in the past 3-4 yrs (bahrain, malaysia). everyone seems to know this, except of course, Karthikeyan.

i saw an interview once where he was the chief guest at a race a friend of mine was in...dismal. grins too much, talks shit.

2 weeks left.
